What to Wear in Turkey in November: Outfit Ideas + 7-Day Itinerary
Planning a trip to Turkey in November? I was in the same boat not long ago, searching for outfit ideas that were modest, comfortable, and practical for the ever-changing weather. If you’re wondering what to pack and how to dress across different regions — from Istanbul to Cappadocia — this guide is for you.
In this post, I’m sharing what I actually wore day-by-day, along with the key places we visited throughout our 7-day Turkey tour.
What’s the Weather Like in Turkey in November?
November in Turkey brings autumn-to-winter transitions, depending on the region:
- Istanbul and coastal areas (Canakkale, Kusadasi): Mild to cool, 10–17°C.
- Central regions (Pamukkale, Konya, Cappadocia): Cold mornings and evenings, often below 5°C.
Turkey Travel Dress Code Tips
- Layering is essential: Bring thermals, sweaters, and a good outer layer.
- Respect religious sites: Cover shoulders, chest, and legs. A scarf is needed for women entering mosques.
- Footwear: Prioritize walking shoes or sneakers; some ruins and towns have uneven paths.
- Dress comfortably, and be ready for really cool breeze (I mainly wore sneakers and flats!)
